Clear coat called Aervoe Clear Acrylic, Experiences?

I just got a gallon of this from FH. I was really looking for a so called speed coat that is clear. (After calling half a dozen autobody places, none had clear acrylic or flatting agent).

It is very clear and seams rubbery. I did a test patch with a brush.

Does anyone use this and what is your take?

Brush it? Spray it? It says acrylic, but it doesn’t thin with water. I’m a little reluctant to put it in my sprayer.

thx

I use it in rattle cans. It works pretty well, you still have to polish it up. I go straight from the can to wet 800-1000-1200-1600 and it turns out fine. Many very thin coats or it can build into bumps, as bad as spray paint.

My local OSH has it for $1 per can cheaper than FGH. You might want to check the OSH website.

I first grabbed it because of the big stamp: “No CFC’s - won’t harm the ozone layer” (I’m a sucker for that stuff) or something like that and because I asumed it was water-based, being acrylic & all. Of course, a week later when I’m about to use it I decide to read the fine print to figure out if I should wear a mask…and I find Xylene, Toluene, and Propylene Glycol Ethers. :frowning: I wore the mask.

Of course, those might be propellants in the rattle can, your gallon might be different.

I guess I’d tell you to spray it, but go light & easy & wear a mask.
