Hello all, first post here, just wanted to ask a quick question
So I just bought a sweet 8’ long promotional board from Trader Joes that I intend to surf with. The only problem is that I want the logo and colors on top to not be covered up by wax. So, I’ve looked at these clear grip alternatives:
XM Clear Grip
Versa traction
Hula Deck
Monster paint traction
Clear grip traction from North Shore Industries
Simple waterproof non slip tape
The only problem with the above is that they are all either too expensive (bought the board for 80$, don’t wanna spend the boards value on grip) or too permanent/damaging to remove. However, I have come across two other solutions that I’m hoping someone on here has tried:
Using Polyeurethane and sugar to paint over the top of the board
This is what I’m leaning towards. Can someone tell me if it’s permanent or at least somewhat removeable?
Using clear Plasti Dip
I like this too but I just don’t know if it will hold up to the rubbing forces of my feet when I’m surfing
The board is already done, so I can’t do any of the special “lay a cloth on top and then remove it before the top coat sets” tricks, but I’m open to any other suggestions that don’t cost 80$ Thanks!
