Thinking about ordering a 6’3. Anybody tried one and how did you like it? Also anyone knows what kind of blanks he uses, i think he might use styrofoam blanks how does this compare to other blanks available for epoxy resin?
Clyde IS the man. You can't go wrong with a Rocket Fish. I used to glass them when I worked for him. They are Light, Strong,and durable. The foam is styrofoam, beaded foam. I'm a glasser so I don't know all the names of all the different foams out there. All I can say is that When I worked there, I never saw one come back because of a manufacturing defect. And if there was ever a person to stand behind his product..it's Clyde Beatty. He's my hero!

He’s my hero!
the very first epoxy board i ever rode was in 84 , it was one of clydes …
i got to finish 3 boards brought back from the states , which had only been glassed and not sanded and finished …
first wave i knew it was the future , first time on an epoxy board and i was pulling backhand airs …
never did another one till i was making my own and had them working in the 90s …
if there was ever a guy i would like to thank and say i was inspired to think in a different direction…
then clyde is the man i would thank …
and col ladhams for bringing the boards back for me to be inspired by …
class act …
regards

I had one and it was great. Rides like a traditional fish, but can go more vertical. Very hard to ding too.
Say…you got any more pictures of Clyde hanging areound? I’d sure like to see them.
I rode a Rocketfish-Tigerfish for 2 years and loved it. Mine was made by Max and was bulletproof. After 2 years of constant use in everything from Rincon to Mexico, the only damage was a half dozen scratches on the bottom from falling on the rocks. Those boards really come alive at head high and above. You’ll be amazed at how responsive they are.
Epac- What is that beast behind Jim? It looks about 12’ or so.

Yes, it seems J.A. has gotten bored w/ short boards. 12’ section connector, 2.5" balsa center strip w/ new chief Pontiac logo, glide master series.
clyde’s epoxy work is unreal —i have a 5 years old campbell bros. bonzer that was made of styrofoam and lam-ed in epoxy in his shop----it’s by far the best board i’ve ever bought. light strong and rides soooo well.
