Coastal Commision Meeting

I will be at the meeting next wednesday with a painted protest surfboard. Are any of you other folks making to show our support for Trestles? It may be a long meeting but I think it is really important. And it may be boring too… But think about how much more boring it will be to surf non- descript closed out South Orange County beach break for the rest of our lives. See you there. I would wear a swaylocks shirt but I think I may look more respectable if I borrow some of my Dad’s work clothes. Either way I will be holding a yellow shortboard saying, " Save Trestles for my Granchildren!" See you there. Darren

I’m in!!! Nothing can stop me from being there… come hell or high water… not even DOH glassy a-frame barrels!!!

*** Wed, Feb 6th 9:00am Del Mar Fairgrounds ***

From Surfrider site: We have limited space on our buses/carpools. If you are coming from Orange County, email Robin of the Sierra Club, robin.everett@sierraclub.org. If you are in San Diego, email Stefanie and indicate if you would like to leave from Ocean Beach or Oceanside. SSekich@surfrider.org

Also, the Solana Beach Amtrak station is approx one mile North of the fairgrounds.

anyone looking to carpool from LA?

I will be there in spirit.

Trestles is a priceless treasure.

This may be your last best hope to save it.

I’ve done all I can from here.

ASP delivered the following message today for those of you not signed up for their emails.

"A Call to Action ? Trestles

It?s been an issue for quite sometime now, but the venue for Stop No. 7 on the ASP World Tour, the world famous Lower Trestles, is currently being threatened by the development of a toll road that will cut through the state park. The California Coastal Commission will be meeting Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 9pm at the Del Mar Fairgrounds at Wyland to discuss moving forward with the potentially harmful development project. Be sure to do your part to ensure that Trestles keeps its epic form.’
