Cocoa Beach: March 31

Was anyone else out at Cocoa today? Or anywhere else in Central Florida? A perfect Florida day if I ever saw one. Chest to head and glassy…

You’re killing me man, I was stuck here on the Gulf Coast in an office dealing with insurance all day. Well, glad someone got to enjoy it. Post some photos if you have any, at least I can dream…

Hey Shawn,

I was out at my normal break today: Playalinda . I have to agree, it was going OFF for sure. The morning was really good and towards the early afternoon the wind started to switch up. I have been out at the pier the last 4 days in the row. Where do you normally surf? Hope I will repeat the awesome session tomorrow! later.

I usually surf at Lori Wilson Park with friends because it’s easy to get to, or Patrick’s AFB. Rarely, I go down to the Pier or to the Inlet at New Smyrna. The Inlet is a last resort though, no offense to anyone is intended.

Jupiter Pier was nice, big, and clean, but was kinda closeing out. The shoure pound was very nice also. Say hi to my skimmer friends up there you know the bOardheads?

Waves were sick fun indeed, but this is a surfboard design forum. 2light Dave? Sean, no offense, but this should be on another forum…

No, I wish I lived up in that area. I’m in the Singer Island area. 2 Breaks north or about a mile north of Reef RD.

Hey, give the guy a break. He’s stoked on some good waves and wants to share. So what if he’s not talking about surfboard design. Everyone knows that shapers aren’t that important to the process anyway.

April Fools!

Okay, really, shapers rule.

I am actually thinking of moving to Florida. If I sell my house here in Carlsbad, CA, I can buy a house free and clear in Florida across the street from the beach. And even though I am one of the best big wave riders in California (April Fools again), I do enjoy small surf. As long as it’s ridable, I’m on it. I’m not picky about surf, and that is NOT an April Fools joke. Living in Georgia for nine years makes you appreciate any mound of water that can push you forward.

So, financial freedom and a debt free life in Florida, or lots of debt and frequent high quality surf multiple times per week in Southern California? That is the question.

What’s your opinion?

All right…break given…its just when Fla people talk about getting good surf …you get a million comments about how Fla sucks. I would check the real estate prices closely…shacks on our beaches are not that cheap. That being said,I love Fla and would not leave for anything. I travel for surf quite a bit(p-rico,bahamas,costa…) and have been to California, nice waves, point breaks ect…but I still would not leave here. You didn’t hear it from me …lol… but you can always find a sand bar or coquina rock shelf to surf by yourself…can you do that in Cali? Better surf and smog and stress vs small consistent surf with an occasional hit…less smog(lol) and a more laid back attitude…tough choice? Only a short(10hr…lol…) drive for the banks too…love the outer banks. Ahhh decisions…decisions…peace and waves…
