I need to repair 2 3"x6" mismatched color dings. This is pu foam and polyurethane resin. The color is fireengine red but it looks like the ding repair was attempted with red pigment resin that turned out pink. I can not tell whether the original color is on the foam or lam (its a Lost MR retro twin for those who may know). I am thinking of sanding down to the hot coat, painting with Liquidtex acrylic or spraying with acrylic/future mix. Then I would hoat coat and gloss the repair area. Does anyone know if i will have problems with acrylic on pu resin? I have used it plenty on epoxy and it is fine.
Yer that will be fine,
I mix the liquatex with futures, match the colour before adding the acrylic as its has a milky hue (dries clear) and with lightent the colour, bry dry darker, you’ll need a few thin coats. leave it atleast 24 hours to dry fully
Checkout www.theboardlady.com for advise on blending/matching colours
Thanks. I have not thought of mixing it with the futures (only doing a thin coat of futures once the acrylic paint is down; before glossing). Yeah, the boardlady is great, been all over that site!
