Color or not

I have been studying the archives and am now little nervous.I am loving the process of making my first surf board after 30 years of wave hunting. I have sanded the hot coat and broken through the weave in a few places mainly around the fish tail. Can I seal these areas with future then spray color from a can. Then seal again with clear acrylic sealer. Then gloss coat. I can test this on a sample… just wanted to check with you guys as to whether or not I’m on the right track. I know the quickest/ safest way into the water is to forget the color. Thanks for the information overload.

Hey

You mean you already glassed it clear, and now you want to make it look like a surftech?

Why not just keep it clear?

Most color jobs are applied on the blank, either sprayed, squeegeed, or applied with the lam coat.

Color on top like you describe makes your color job opaque, looking like a popout.

Your choice, but yes, you can do whatever you want on your board.
