colored foam PU

I’ve seen colored foam on here(specifically Poly US Blanks). Is it possible to have them color it white so it won’t yellow? Maybe they already do this to the blanks?..If not, can someone give me more insight as to how the foam coloring process goes…is it just pigment added before they pour?

thanks in advance

anybody???

someone has to know something…if it is a stupid question, tell me.

thanks

anyone??? last try to get an answer

So you want a colored blank, but then paint it white?. You could just get a white one, and spray it white before glassing for extra UV resistance??. Not sure i understand your question

yeah its a pigment before the pour, they can mix it solid, or do swirls like resin swirls. Im sure they could do a white, I have seen white mixed in swirls.

okay thanks…is there a reason why they do not make white pigmented foam standard in PU blanks?  i’m just wondering if it would stay whiter longer

thanks for the response.

beerfan,

sorry if I was not specific in the original post. I’ve seen so colored foams around here and at the shop where I get my stuff, so  was wondering if they could color it white if that makes any sense

Ok mate, cool. I've never seen coloured foam. Be kinda cool!. I have never had any of my boards, bought or made, go yellow, so was curious.

beerfan,

yeah what got me thinking about it are some pics of colored foam on here(deadshaper put some pics up), and in the store I get my stuff from. Some of my older boards that I leave out have slightly yellowed and you can tell when it’s next to a new one. I just think it’d be cool to have boards that stay snow white for many many years.

The channel island boards i see at my local glass shop are sprayed white before their dropped off.

p.s beerfan, if you order your blanks to wollongong, maybe you should check these guys out http://www.oceanfoam.com.au/ the do the trippiest looking blanks
