You can use Posca pens. See this link… http://www.grayenterprise.com/paint.htm …or just do a search on MSN. I think Foam EZ sells them also. Whatever pens you use, make sure they’re water-based. You can also find some pretty good selections of other brands of water-based markers/pens in just about any decent art supply store, though they may be a little more expensive… Another way to add color to a foam blank prior to glassing is spraying it on with a refillable spray can from Harbor Freight. You can pour in any color you want. An insightful gentleman here at Swaylocks advised me of this interesting item. Visit www.harborfreighttools.com. Let us know how it’s going…deeb…
I use a place in Westminster for glassing called The Surfboard Factory. They’re right next door to Foam EZ and very friendly to backyard scrubbers…talk to Steve Adler. basic shortboard/sanded gloss is about 150$ inc. fins, longboard gloss and polish was like 190$ last time i did one. There’s also a couple other glassers in that complex. I use cheap foam brushes to color boards with acrylic paint. Sure doesn’t look like an airbrush but for me thats why i like it. Most boards with color are so generic. fade/railbands/flames…enough! i dig it when i see guys doing their own artwork on boards, looking totally different. i like Golden Acrylics, they’re super lightfast and the offer their colors in a fluid version so you don’t have to thin and dilute the color so much.

I haven’t done it yet, but I was told you can purchase certain types of spray paint that will work on the board. Saves you from buying an airbrush. Fyi if you have Michaels Craft stores, they sell a beginners air brush pen for $20.
