this is directed at B.T…that sprayer Deeb spoke of in his response to you (I believe) is called a “prevail” sprayer. It’s pretty good for generic coverage and really cheap.(shouldn’t cost you more than ten bucks!) It’s a little column of aerosol with a capillary tube descending down the middle, and a small jar at the bottom. you can mix whatever color you want in that container jar. Just remember to thin your acrylics to the consistancy of heavy cream and you’re good to go. You get what you pay for, however! (It ain’t no airbrush!) You WILL get spatters. practice on some scrap foam. By the way, mix the acrylics in a cup before you add it to that jar, and STRAIN it! You can get that sprayer at many art supply stores, and even home depots have 'em ! But, again, they’re only glorified (though custom color"able") spray cans. Mist the paints on…watch your distance…(dont get too close)…good luck! P.S. Watch your step with some water based media . A great deal of dyes and inks are not especially light fast (they will fade within a few days in the sun!).
"that sprayer Deeb spoke of in his response to > you (I believe) is called a “prevail” sprayer. Good advice on the cautions of spraying paint. I forgot to mention the specifics, but just to clarify, the sprayer I’m talking about is not the Prevail. The Prevail is aerosol-powered; the one I’m talking about is non-aerosol and uses compressed air. It will therefore last longer, because when the compression is gone, you just hook it up to an air pump and refill it. (Of course, this helps our atmosphere out a little more than aerosol as well.) And instead of just filling a little jar with your paint, you actually screw the top off the can and fill the whole thing up with your color. This also costs about $10.
Deeb…I wasn’t aware they had a REFILLABLE compressed air sprayer! that’s great (and -like you said - or inferred - more "green! Right on!). By the way, I saw that there’s a new (?) company which makes paint pens similar to the “Posca” pens of japan…“MERICAN PAINTPENS”… with a web site : merican-graphics.com ! I’m gonna check it out right now! ( Hey, B.T. …you listening!)…“Give um”!
