I am familiar with black ink pinlines, but I am wondering what is used for colored pin’s; colored ink? If not, then what and how is it done? Thanks- connor

They come in many colors. The water based pens are used under resin. They also make a solvent based pen that is to be used on the finished board- these can NOT be used under resin. I use the water based pens on the sanded hot coat prior to glossing.
Hi Bob, Posca cant be marked on dark color background. Its best fit to mark on white background, otherwise it may lose its original color. I was thinking airbrush white pinline on a dark purple foam board. Regards, Crabie http://www.swaylocks.com/links/pages/Materials_and_Supplies/
i’d say taping off the foam to keep it white, instead of painting it white. that would show off some real talent. at least in my opinion…

But you could always airbrush it with white on the foam. I would not advise airbrushing it on sanded hot coat because the paint build up will interfer with gloss resin flow. An artist I did a board for painted on the hotcoat and the gloss was not smooth at all. Lucky for me he did the rubout. Aloha, Kokua

I am actually looking to do ink pin’s, no airbrushing. The posca idea is good, but I prefer the hand and ink pen method. Do they make colored ink that you know of Kokua? Thanks- connor
