Coming to Oahu

Sorry, but not a surf trip. Still, you never know when someone might be around and able to say hello. And what the heck - I’m in on something with cheap grinds and free beer… come say hello.

17th annual Hawaii Lacrosse Tournament - http://www.hawaiilacrosse.com/ Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. Sponsored by Coors Light (sorry, but its free) and others.

I’m playing for both the Barbary Coast Club and the Crease Monkeys ‘Silver Monkeys’ Masters. Should have about 5 games on Saturday plus I heard we scrimmage Japan on Friday. And both clubs usually make the finals on Sunday.

If any of you Hawaii guys have kids who would like to see a supa fun game, bring um out. Uncle Ben will show um all around an stuffs. Keiki Clinic at 2pm on Friday the 24th.

I get in Friday am and leave Monday am so probably no time for a surf, but you never know. Be good to see some Swaylocks brothers, I’ll be the big guy in the lacrosse gear who looks like Adam Sandler. Ha ha ha Pm for cell #.

where you staying?

my brother lives right up the hill from kapiolani park in St Louis Heights

Loehr is here till the 28th

no one seems interested in putting togethor something and we’re too tired and busy to try and round everyone up. But Uncle D (Dennis) and Manoa and us would love to have a waikiki surf session with you

Hey maybe we can get Austin to come surf with us and you can borrow Charlie’s(honolulu) big red gun and drop in on him all session… or we could all drop in on each other and just go straight…

Oh yeah, Charlie thinks that would be real fun. The gun is more a reddish orange. It was a mix of red and yellow but you know red, always wins against lighter colors.

I’ll also bring my red/yellow swirly longboard and we’ll have a go, sit in the lineup and crash rails into each other until someone calls quits. Or if your tasts run to rich haole, I take you to Outrigger Canoe Club (just across the street, makai of the fountain) and we can go for a full-rash session on OCC’s softdecks out at Tongg’s, Old Mans, maybe even the launch pad at Ricebowl. Now there’s a wave. Suicides, Zeroes, Sandbar, Noplace, Publics are all within range; and Lord help us all, Castle’s. Late one afternoon I got a few at Castle’s earlier this year.

I live nearby, and you can borrow any board I have, but they’re all 8’ or less right now. Not sure if I can make it there right now, but if I can I will. The other option is for Bernie to leave a long board here for you to use.

There are quite a few good breaks right across the street from Kapiolani Park, so if you have some down time, you can ride a couple of waves.

Heck, you could do your thing, surf and have a BBQ at the park. Are you staying near the park or further away?

sounds like fun.

You guys should go watch a lacrosse game. It’s one of the best spectator sports ever.

Thanks guys, I will definitely get in touch once I see the game schedules. I have Bernie’s phone #…

One of my teammates has the keys to his realtor’s condo a block from the park. She just sold his house here in Oakland, so she’s being real friendly (free). The same guy has family there (he’s Hawaiian) - his dad & uncles live upcountry - so the first choice for free time will probably be to go up to the house. If we have a car, anyway. Otherwise, there’s nothing better than knocking rails and going straight with a bunch of friends out at Queens. If all else fails, I’ll grab an 11’0 from Koa and paddle out just to feel the water. Maybe early Sunday am or something… ?

Epac, thanks. I agree
