it’s flat out so here’s the question if you were forced to ride a commercial board, merrick, rusty , lost, tyler ,brewer, hic ect who would you go with. i’m down with glen minami.

Greg Liddle or Paul Gross, but since they probably aren’t considered “commercial”(nor do they really want to be) I will go with Yater, thank you.

I like to try one of those 6 4 jc stingers they look like plenty of head high fun and on the flip side a skip frye 11’ triple stringer glider. maybe a lost fish as well.

I saw a doc lausch single fin board and also those joel tudor short boards would be fun to try . Since they run about 500 bucks I guess I’ll continue to shape my own.
i would ride either a takayama, a tyler, a 11-12’ skip frye, or a joel tudor board. i like the old style, heavy, single fin classic boards over any of the new stuff we have now
A Herb Spitzer Supercharger of course!

I’ve had a few great boards from Glen. He would shape boards for us for free when he was honing his shaping skills here in Pearl City in the late 60’s. Who would’ve knwon he’d go on to be a world class shaper. I’d really like to try a Joel Tudor Papa Joe model…just something about the shape that appeals to me.

Foamdust, I shaped my first board in Pearl City in 1961, it was in mom and pop’s carport. What a trip, a haole/surfer at Waipahu High! http://www.JimtheGenius@aol.com

If I was to buy/ride a commercial board, a Gerry Lopez,or a Owl Chapman for big wave stuff.A Cooperfish Comet, Lis Fish, Brom Fish, for small shorty stuff. And I would like a Chris Schroder for a hi-pro longboard or one of Jim’s I hear his boards are “magic”,I would also like to try, as many boards as I can ride, before I die!
Anything Iggy or a Steve Forstall coda epoxy.

I picked up a glen minami when he was shaping for blue hawaii. It was a magic board, my roomates would borrow it even though they had their own boards.
