Concave deck surfboards

I have a couple and like them. Over the years I’ve got a sternum that’s sticking out which makes a normal board really uncomfortable.
As for shaping, these are old compsand boards so EPS with no stringer, I just sanded in the concave with a curved block, same as a bottom concave.

I’ve a few boards with them and really like they control they offer.

I got really mild concave decks in a thicker small wave board and it really helped with board control and rail to rail transitions. It really felt like the board stuck under my feet a lot more and generally just felt more sensitive.

This was on a stringerless EPS board with bamboo deck, so that construction lends itself well to this type of concave deck.

Question- at a certain point the deck has to curve back down to the rail. So there will be a hump there. I notice when I examine the bootie marks on my boards that my back foot will be on. or nearly on the rail. So I’d be standing on the hump not the concave. Anybody else have that experience?
