There was a company that made some really cool tools for shaping. The were known as PLESKUNAS. I had a # of 408-761-8324 that always rings buisy. Does any one out there in Cali land know of these guys? Are ythey still in business and if so I need a Phone # please! PS Killer waves in Jax Fl. this weekend thanks to Tropical Storm Gabriell. It was solid 6’ ground swell with 10’ faces and ocassional 12’ faces on rogue sets! Way fun! Thanks JC
Jim…That is Stan Pleskunas. I believe he sells his tools through fiberglass Hawaii, now…with branches in Honolulu, and Northern California. If I’m not mistaken, there was some kind of merger with what used to be Monterey Bay fiberglass…I’m a useless bastard, because I don’t have any numbers handy, and I’m nowhere near my address book right now…but I bet that if someone else sees this, they’ll give you the numbers. P.S. I have some of Stan’s rasps and his calipers, and various other tools of his design, and they’re great! I’ll try to dig up some numbers for you if no one else comes across…Gimme a couple of days, otherwise… Aloha, T.

Thanks T. much appreciated. one of my freinds has some of his concave tools and the long sanding tool that crowns the decks smoothly and the abrasive pads are wearing out. We really want to hook up with this guy!

can you tell us more about his tools? They are shaping tools that are pre formed to smooth out a nice even concave in the nose or smooth a nice even dome on the deck. He even has pre formed rail tools. The active abrasive material are multiple tiny flat octaginal shaped units spaced out along the preformed wooden base that favors the way the suction cups on Octipi’s tenticles are positioned. The tools are mostly a time saver and somewhat expensive but worth it I think. jc
