copying a poly board using compsand materials

I have just made a new compsand thruster, it turned out to be a bit lighter than planned.  It is a copy of a Spyder Murphy board of my brothers that I used a few times. and road well.  The board felt a bit strange under foot almost too light.  What are your thoughts on this or is it the difference in materials and flex.  I used 4mm corecel top and bottom glassed with 1 layer of 4 oz and 1oz to glue the foams to the core.

When copying a poly board should you flatten the rocker to compensate for the flex??

You need flex return and a stiffer midsection, put a strip (2-3 mm) balsa, paulownia or cedar about the same width as your foot, 6" beyond both ends of your stance, glass with 1oz, Dance… and jump, and bust your airs. You ripper you. p.s. oh, don’t tell anyone I told you.

top or bottom or both side?

cheers

Grant

How much do you weigh and how floppy is the board now? You need to dial this in to your personal ability and preference level. Get a 3 or 4mm strip of mentioned wood, taper the ends down to 0-2mm one shoe size (yours) in from both ends, nose and tail. Wow, why didn’t they think of that?? xo
