Corky Cool Sticks

Hey Bill, If you remember your partner had one of the Webers (its in my garage now) and I had a 7 foot egg. It was my first 3 fin board, had the removable box for the back fin and glass ons for the side fins. Nice neon orange yellow fade deck(first airbrush I ever owned as well). That board rode great It became my travel board I surfed all over the world wherever I was working I took it because you could use it from 2  to 6 feet any conditions. I taught my kids and half of New Smyrna how to surf on it. I still had it until last year. The guy that was running the machine for me at the time borrowed it and he never came back. He must of had fun on it and he is still surfing. It was the the only 3 fin I could ever ride. I still ride a single fin even today. I tried to copy that board at least 10 times and it never was the same. Seeing Jim Phillips on here reminds me of another great board I still have. Its an 8'7 single fin pintail, glassed on fin. Best nose rider I ever had. Im not a good nose rider and its pretty short but for some reason that board nose rides great. I broke it in half 10 years ago and fixed it. It still rides the same. Not a great turner(not bad just not great) but itsfast as hell I can make any wave on it and as I said for some reason it just noserides great.

Ah yes, Bill A. I’ll ask him about it when I go over to our t-shirt business today. My brother got a Weber at the same time and it’s still in his garage. Murf still has his Corky Cool Stick.

After I had the basics put together, the brands and the factory, I was telling Dick Catri about it. Before I could even finish the story he said, “Well, you need a sales rep.” I said, yeah I guess I do. He said, “That’s me”.

Judy Slater was working in my office and I put her in charge of administering the paperwork.

Once everything was in place we had a pretty good run for a few years.

Uh yeah, he says he gave it to you about 15 years ago to fix some dings. Wants to know if it’s done yet.

Yeah that was deal Bill. But at least he still has it. It is dinged all to hell. Cant remember what happened but I just couldnt get into it. It was easier to make hime a new board, So I did. I never could ride that weber but he could.

These stories are great!  I cleaned up the board and took a bunch of new photos:

That’s a good lookin board ! - I’d paddle out on it today , no worries ( although I might feel a bit self conscious about the colours ).

More specs , like rocker , tail width  , hull shape  ’ d  be cool.

Balsa Bill , is the Brian Clark you mentioned the one from San Clemente who lives in NZ now ?

Swaylockers can ’ back in the day ’ better than anyone , I love it !

Excellent Airbrush work on that board. Over all it is a really good looking board.

So, it’s safe to say that you don’t live in the tropics?

So I decided to put the Corky up for sale:

With too many boards, the liklihood of me bashing this board up on the rocks here in Rhode Island and ruining the paint job, and no place in my casa to hang it up, I figure it would be best in someone else's hands...

Not sure if the thread is too old but trying to reach Balsa Bill. Regards, Tom
