Both long and short; probably long at first. And what is a good way to get started shaping? should i try and study under a local shaper or something?
about as much as buying a new board the first time…I am totally self taught and my boards have turned out nicely, just take your time and don’t be afraid to utilize non-traditional tools.
I also have never shaped a board before. What kind of tools would I need? A friend told me I need to paint me garage smurf blue. What do these tools cost? I heard the electric plainer is a grand!!! eeek! I would just take it to a glass shop…I think my glass job would be quite messy! Where do I start??? HELP!!!
Hey Slingblade, you might want to invest in one of the shaping videos first. It’ll go over all the tools you’ll need. Also, check the www.foamez.com site for ideas. As far as an electric planer goes, you can certainly find cheaper models.>>> I also have never shaped a board before.
