costa rica

hi, i am thinking of going to costa rica (tamarindo area) for maybe a month in jan to escape the uk/s icey conditions, i have never surfed in warm water before and can only imagine what 26 degs feels like , england will be 8 or 9 degs at this time!,

rather than take a board with me i was thinking of buying one over there and selling it again before i leave or alternatively hireing one ,

does anyone have an idea what second hand boards cost over there and availability and hire costs

I was there this past summer and rented boards from Iquana Surf. There are plenty of board rental places but I did not see too many used boards for sale. the board rentals are varied between real dogs to pretty good selection. However if I was to travel again to Costa Rica I probably would pay the cost of shipping my own boards. Good Luck.

America wast is doing a promotion deal on thier new flight to Costa, ship your board you’ll appreciate it. Bring something thin, I brought three boards the first time and used one, the smallest (6’0" 18.3" 1 7/8"). That board lives there as it does not work too well with a 543 wetsuit.

Pura Vida!
