Craftsmanship - Is it worth it?

First of all I believe you are thinking to American centered sometimes.

Made abroad doesn’t have to mean cheap or no quality.

The surfboard market is not like very historical. Making a living from selling boards is dates back only 40-45 years.

There are other crafts suffering the same problems.

If someone can produce cheaper he will, that is not something new, that dates way back into industrial revolution times 19th century.

Rich people always where the same, no change there.

That all said I am still all for craftmanship…

I once heard somebody say “90% of everything is shitty quality, its the 10% thats good and carries the rest”. Id say this is true for everything from surfboards to country music to doctors to chefs and ministers and teachers and engineers. Most people just arent very good at what they do. I personally love to create things, even more than surfing…and I love to surf. For me, creating something is where I find my self. Its like I am most complete and at peace when Im creating.
