my friend is a really good skater and wants me to build him a shortboard that sorta has a kicktail but on both ends of the board. he wants some kind of fin system that has a total of 6 fins(three on each end). but i have to think of some kind of way to rig it so the fins go up into the board or collapse when the current going against them is reversed. it will basically be so you can spin 180’s and do kickflips, shove-its, etc. it will not have feet straps and it will be very to semi skinny and pretty short. any ideas for the fin system or anything? http://members.cox.net/austinsurfboards

In the May issue of surfing there was a contest to win a Greg Loehr Double Ender. This board is basicly what your asking about.Short ,Blunt on both ends fins on the front appear to be retractable. There was a better artcle on this in Surfer but I can’t find the issue.

Rick Rock, out of San Clemente, patented this design several years ago, he was/is building them for Nathan Fletcher. The fins had little drag flaps that flipped up when going in reverse.
