he’s trying to present himself as the next greenough/liddle board builder…admirable, but so far off the mark it’s comical.nice, EXPENSIVE glass jobs but for what reason???

There was a pretty funny thread about Creme on the surfermag forum. I especially like the post by Doug93003!
(RePost of my response in your “CJ Model” Thread)
It’s not that hard to MAKE your own GOOD noserider (in my opinion)…I like to think that noseriding is me “Specialty”, and I modeled most of my noseriders after my Cooperfish. I’ve come to like my own noseriders even better than my Nose Devil. This IS Swaylocks after all! Try and shape your own, you can get answers to ALL you questions here…Here’s a little clip of me surfing a homemade board in VERY small surf, but you can get an idea of it’s noseriding ability…
Those people are all DRUNK! And they think surfing is all just fun and games!
The surfline forums start out on a sometimes interesting topic and always end in curse words and irrellevance. I do enjoy it from time to time. They do make swaylockians look like they invented the art of surfing.
LOL…Swaylocks has SO much info for those who want to dive into making almost ANY kind of waveriding craft. If you want the “hype” and “cool”, go to: http://forums.surfermag.com
Before i knew of swaylocks i used to get information from the hellish site. What a waste.
I have been fascinated by Cooperfish’s designs for so long. The Device, nosedevil and Nova get me to drooling. But the price really gets me, I have heard that the Bing Nuuhiwa, Nosedevil, Tyler Craftsman NR and the CJ Nelson (suprisingly) all noseride on about the same level. So for about half the price i figure I can go with a board that i wont commit suicide over when I lose it the perils of a rock (I know it is inevitable).
I love those boards, but right now the price doesnt suit my situation.
“It’s the archer…NOT the arrow”
Can you noseride already (with smoothness/stlye)? If not, don’t waste your money…A Cooperfish isn’t going to make you a great noserider. Learn to noseride on any longboard (I learned to noseride on a 9’0 “high performance” Ukelele)…Once you get it down, THEN make or (if you have to) BUY the high-end board, which will THEN smooth out your style…All the best noseriders are HEAVY and WIDE, which aren’t all that condusive(sp?) to learning how to noseride…especially if you come from a shotboard background (which I did as well). Just my opinion…
I have a 9’8" stepdeck I made that has been ridden about 10 times, volan glass, green opaque resin job, that I’m looking to sell for $300 if you’re interested…
Id be interested to take a look, ill pm you with my email adress.
I learned to noseride on a 9’0 bic with a single 7" fin. Ive been honing my style on a KaneGarden pintail 9’6 with no concave, no width and too much rocker. This winter i was in Hawaii on a borrowed 10’2 South Point, kick ten’s became routine.
I was brought up on longboards, then moved down to fish and thrusters. so my thruster style is what needs work. Im looking for something thats a proven good solid NR that i can base future boards on. I think the CJ would suite me well given my style compared to his versus; as we go back to the main topic; the style of alex knost.
there (by the way) are plenty of people who listen to emo music, and wear collared shirts to work and shit, it seems to me that Knost is totallly going for an image, id be real interested to know what his tastes in music are…that robbie has rad style though, i dig the straight leg 10;s those are fun.
if i had to fathom a guess on my own about what theyre doing, id say its money motivated, theres most likely a solid market for shit like that in so cal right? so why not capitalize on it.
it would flat out never make it in oregon or washington, too many start out surfers riding surftech, id be real interested to watch that guy robbie surf…in a 5/4/3 with boots in a snowstorm.
there alright boards..i have been talking to alot of shapers and saying that robie isnt at the high time of his career. so i would recomend getting a board from a shpaer thats older than 40 like jp or michel junod bc those are the people who have been shaping ever since the 60s and know exactly what does work and what doesnt.
I have about a half dozen Creme’s in factory stock right now, decent price ( Robbie got pissed they took too long and never picked them up ) Call Kevin @ 760 753 7989 Fax 753 1008
