I hand selected Cedar boards with the least amount of knots possible. I milled the lumber in my home workshop. I didn’t want to build a board that came out of a kit. Waiting for tools to be shipped in, setting up the workshop, and building the board took three months. I believe I could shave that time to a month now since I have all the first of’s finished (building rocker table, woodworking bench). It turned out very well and I’m happy with the finished product. I’m currently waiting for a day suited for test runs.

Do you see the boards leaning on the wall of the shop? That’s the surfboard three months ago.

Ready to shape rails

Loving the wood grain!

Here is the top and bottom deck of the board after I finished resawing the boards. The band saw was so hot I could have cooked an egg on it.

Here is the custom fin before glassing. A good way to burn three or four days making this one.  Made from 1x4x8’ cedar boards. Made from scratch as you can get.

After glassing.

Booty shot.

Book matched deck planks add some nice effect.

Sometime I think Steve you can build really cool surfboards…try not to let it go to your head.

I didn’t realize how big 10’6" was until I saw this picture.

When did you move to the US, Roy?

It’s Steve…but thanks! I’m flattered.
