Can someone tell me the way they do it. I’m about to do my first rounded tail and I’m not sure what works best.
Thanks,
Adam

Do you mean where to cut your reliefs? Search “relief cuts”
If you are talking relief cuts then I make one straight cut in the tail in line with the stringer. But before “practicing” on your nice new shape that took so long to get right, see if you can find a crappy old board with a round tail. Or just shape a round tail into a block of foam. Then practice cutting relief cuts and tucking them under. Uses bugger all fibreglass this way. Even better still you don’t have to get it right the first time. Use a small amount of resin while you are at it. If it doesn’t work the first time, pull the fibreglass off and then put a new piece on. Cut it again. And again. Keep doing this until you are comfortable enough with it to do it ona board. Much cheaper to learn it this way than to practice it on a freshly shaped blank. Just a wee bit less frustrating if you get it wrong as well. Good luck.
One cut at the stringer is enough. Try it, not that hard, practice helps. Only one neat little overlap then.
thanks!
I think I’m going with one cut at the stringer. I’m going to give it a shot and I’ll post pics when it’s all done
