Started to make a big dee fin for my 12 foot HWS. attached is couple of shots of it on the board in a couple of locations. I am leaning towards glassing it on and a few questions for all those dee fin masters out there on sways…
A) How should i foil it, where should i put the wide point (5/16" thick, ~16mm) 1/3rd in from the LE?
B) how far back should i put it on the board (tail tip past the tail?) or move it up as the board is pretty gunny in shape
C) how does the shape look, tried to copy a Tom Wegener fin, halo will add another 1" to it all round and its 10" base by 11"
Construction is/will be 5mm timber laminated over a 6mm marine ply core, 2-3 layers of 6oz over that. It should be buoyant and stiff.
