Howzit Halcyon, What's a drag is that most of the last day was not on line after the 4th round. The contest had a lot of technical problems during the whole contest but the worst was the final day. They also should have included the 10 point ride Kelly got in his heat with Bruce Irons, it was probably the sickest tube of the whole contest. Aloha,Kokua
woulkd have been cooler if they all rode fish… imagine how funny that would be. or if the rode swaylockshaper boards
not that I take a huge interest in the tour , but I really hope Kelly Slater wins another world title this year . Or Taj Burrow. [Or Occy , but …has he retired now ?]
ben
me too chip…but Slater seems totally bipolar…he’ll win one and then wont show up the next two…he’s definetly a risk taker and pays the price. I love watching Parko surf and like to see him win a title someday…
im actually stoked occy retired …
i would say ," oh i think my surfing is going down hill , my knees , my back , yea my best days are over "…
then someone would say "what about occy hes your age and still on the tour "
then i would think silently , dam i wish that guy would quit , then i could use being an old guy as an excuse for kooking it…
so no disrespect to the ocstar the full ripper , but im kinda glad hes not being held up there as the epitome of what a guy his age should be surfing like …
have to agree , that backhand tube was up there …
regards
BERT
…now he’ll just beat tom curren and cheyne and kong and tom carroll [did I miss anyone] , on that “other” tour…
ben
Speaking of Cheyne – I know he was at Dungeons last time out but he isn’t on the list this time. He’s been on the QT for some time. Anybody have any word on him? Hope he’s OK. The guy’s a genuis on a wave and had the future of surfing as a big time priority it seems to me.
No Worries, Rich
