I have always loved watching footage of people surfing Jeffries Bay, but I have never seen anything like this before.

Interesting - puts me in mind of the John Galera finless paipos ( see http://mypaipoboards.org/interviews/JohnGalera/JG_2009-0922.shtml ) - the bottom channel and all, though the vaccum may well draw the tail down and help directional stability.
Y'know, I think not having a fin , well, you can't force yourself on a wave, as it were, you gotta work with it, hence those nice, clean, fast lines. Pleasing to the eye -
