It has been a fun journey scouting out the site and learning about the tools I have been enjoying so much for the past 20 years! Very inspiring!
I am a woodworker and the idea of carrying my love for shaping into the surfboard contruction is something my wife has encouraged me to pursue. I would like to use the craft to shape boards for my family to enjoy. As a first project I would like to do a mini-simmons/fish concept much like the Bing Dharma: http://www.bingsurf.com/surfboards_dharma.
I have ridden this board a number of times and it just really handles the gutless Virginia Beach waves great! I would be aiming for the

set up. Can anyone steer me towards a good blank for this? I am interested in anyone's thoughts and experience on a shape like this.
