Dimensions for a suitable fish?

Hi guys,

I’m about to make a retro fish - twin fin.

I am 6ft tall and weigh 13 stone…I was thinking of going for a 6’2" to start with as a friend has just made one thats 6’6" but that looks a little too big…

I need help with the widths ans thickness…can you please help?

Cheers

SHORTER, WIDER, THICKER!

5’10" 22" 2 3/4’ or 5’6" 23" 3" (I would go the 5’6")

Just my opinion…

You should also figure in ability, age, type of surf, how often you surf. They work good at 5’6", they work good at 6’6". Mike

Dont forget the color also affects performance, if you make it red it needs to be bigger because its dead but if its yellow then you can go shorter because its mellow. LOL

Thirdshade,

Looks like you’re about my size, 182 lbs if my conversion is right? I ride a 6’ x 22" x 2 7/8" thick. and it works just fine for me. Although I could go up to 6’4" and be perfectly comfortable with it.

I guess it all depends on how comfortable you are with shortboards. If you surf them regularly, it would stand to reason that a shorter fish, down to 5’6" may feel just fine. On the other hand, if you’re like me and predominately surf longboards (about 60% of the time), longer may be better. 6’ to 6’4" range.

Have fun!

Ha Ha TRUE!

my red fish is 2 inches longer than my yellow fish!

6’ x 22" x 2 7/8" thick, those dimensions sound good to me. Im about your size and have ridden a 6’0 and that feels like the smallest Id like to go myself
