divinycell sucks

Why thats elementary…mad Bert’s shop revolves upside down with the flick of a switch…then he applies resin to the board…gravity prevents the resin from penetrating the PVC.

Really sir, get with it.

Many years ago when I was a young apprentice, one of my projects involved trying to apply a resinous coating to a semi-porous 4’ x 8’ panel, to best achieve:

  1. Minimal surface penetration of resinous coating

  2. Eliminate/or minimize the attraction of tiny dust particles during the drying cycle

The solution was simple…

  1. Apply resinous coating quickly, thin and smooth

  2. Then turn wet panel surface upside down until drying cycle was over

I see that you’ve been given the secret tour of Bert’s shop. Some people have all the luck!.. What I was refering to was the guy who said it was brilliant. The gravity idea seemed clear to him, but I didn’t get it.

Lemme get scientific for a second. Any porous solid with small channels and crevases will absorb any liquid by means of capillary action. It is a wicking action that can amount to many hundreds of psi depending on the solid.

Thought that might be interesting to some.

Best Regards,

Matt

Now that I can understand. Thanks!
