Thanks mate.
I'm inconsistently in touch with Dale. He has limited internet access and time-zones make phoning difficult.
I've no plans to be a commercial mat builder. We've all seen the hassles that come with that! Right now, building mats is a part of surfing for me. Creating the specific dimensions for my personal bubble of air is a blast. Would I want to be at the welder day in day out?
No way! :-0
Other than the odd gift hand-me-downs will be the only way my mats get into the wider world.

Good for you G -
Looking good, having fun, not worring about others… Sounds like a good surf to me!

Pigmenting the sealant for the lettering invovles thining it and it bled. :-( Ho hum....
Pretty happy with it though.

Great to see you keeping underground custom mats alive G! Dale will be proud.
Thanks mate.
TBH, it’s been quite some time since I heard from Dale.

Hey team, You guys are like full on rocket scientists compared to me but I thought you might be interested in some little experiments I have been conducting with that clear vynl material. I had bought some two part glue used for inflatable zodiac boats but it was expensive and not practical, you had to apply the glue, wait 24 hrs and then reapply to make it stick- and even then it failed…but anyways I had a play around with a cheap hot glue gun and found that if you apply hot glue to each surface and then stick them together the bond was airtight and that material would fail before the bond did… getting this to be neat and look as good as the examples you guys are showing might be a whole other problem, but I thought you might be interested in this exceptionally cheap and basically instant alternative to creating seams. Cheers Sub
That’s good to know. I’ll need to do a test and see if I get the same results.
