Does anyone know anything about the shaper of this fish?

Goes by the name and lable of JRod? Possibly from San Diego area? This big fish has some nice Seebold keels… wondering how this fat fish will fly and wondering 'bout who shaped. Thank you in advance.

pics will be posted soon as soon as I can figger out how to shrink 'em.

Thanks.

you can shrink your pics with a program called irfanview. . look it up. . easy to use and its free.

Here we go with the photos. If anyone can ID the shaper and knows anything, let me know. Who knows, maybe he’s lurking on this site.

a few more pics.

he may be a backyarder. . reason i say is the tail doesnt make a full descent to the tips. . . . pretty nice tho

I’d say back yard guy, too. The tail and fins are not foiled that well. Not that mine are better… Mike

what is the symbol or pic here on the board

That there is a “leash loop”, instead of the usual plug

Thanks Rooster and Earthal1 – That was my impression too, mostly from looking at the tail and “butt crack” area.

I’ll post my impressions and let you know how it goes after I test drive her a bit. The fins though are signed “Seebold” - so whomever shaped this got ahold of some Steve Seebold keels! From the looks of it the keels are foiled nicely. Nice glass job too.

I couldn’t resist grabbing it. It was a clean board swap for something that I hadn’t been riding for a while.

gracias

you’re a person of grace

… especially for not making me feel like the biggest idiot

Hi Nomad,

From the pictures it appears the fin laminations are wavering. That is why it looks from the photos the fins are not foiled that well. Pictures can be deceiving. Know what I mean? I’m not here trying to take a cheap shot at anyones work, pro or hobby builder. Check out the Gephart keels on the True Ames website and I think you will see what I mean. The lines are ‘sharp as a razor.’ Anyway, it looks like a damn fun board to me, whoever built it. Hope it works for you. Mike
