Benny ma boy, your kung fu is good, your timing is good also.
any hope of templating the tabs for fcs (with a shape attached if you want), I might get round to installing the plugs next weekend but need to get the spacing right and don’t have any tabbed fins to use. Send me as many different templates as you can stuff in an envelope mate. And I’ll send you some pikelets and proper english tea in exchage.
Sounds like a nice session you had this morning, glad your back at it mate.
unfortunately , i don’t have access to a scanner any more .
But , if you guys don’t mind 'snail mail ’ , i’ll be more than happy to mail you all !
‘fatty’ , yes , no worries , mate ! … MOST of my fin templates are , in fact , fcs tabbed [ as this is the fin system i use [for side fins] ]
and ,
for any wondering …
my templates include : -
single fins
twin fins
twin keels
cutaway keels
bonzer runner type thingys
‘hybrids’
small thruster side fins
upright fins
…and a few ‘mutants’ [?] , perhaps
By the way , some of the above mentioned fins HAVE been posted on threads by me previously , such as "single fin templates’ , ‘keel templates’ , and ‘twin fin templates’ [from memory]
So , please everyone feel free to use any / all of these that take your fancy ! …i’m always VERY keen [and stoked !!]to hear / read / see others giving fin-making a bash , and it was for this very reason that i spent many hours here , designing , cutting , scanning , resizing , and posting them on sways …
Thanks for your generosity but I would feel awkward asking someone to post me something from Oz. BTW, I shaped a pair of twin fins based on your template #35 from the resource section using a skateboard deck so it has some curve to it. I sized them up a little bit though, they look pretty cool. I’ll have to give a ride report when I go to Florida next week. Of course I’ll be riding my new fish that I just finished so it’ll be on a completely untested board.
Since I had such a good response , maybe the email thing I will forego , in order to post them here instead , if that’s okay with you guys ? [I guess there ‘may’, at a later date , be some new members who may also like to use / see these , so …here goes !
thanks very much for your response , guys , it encouraged me to see how MANY of you will be / are making fins !
so , I’ve located 'a fair few ’ of the “fins on 1” square grids photos " from over the years here
For those who asked , I hope this is going to be helpful , and please … feel FREE to use whatever of these you like !
Thanks chipfish61 for your templates, I’m working with cad to have
some good 3d models and i will cut them with my cnc, but wich kind of
profile could be better?
I played a lot with Profili2.0 to check
wich kind of profile could be the best, but i have to admitt that I
don’t have a clear idea. http://www.profili2.com
I think the most used is a NACA profile…
Someone could help me?
I would like to share my 3d files too, but I prefer to create them with a good profile…
