I ordered some blanks from this new company in Florida called Domyan Foam and all of the sudden their phone # is disconnected and nobody answer my emails…I fell for the scam and lost the money…BEWARE!
Do you have an address for them? Maybe someone local can go knock on their door and see if they are around.
Any names of the people you dealt with? It’s a small world…
If you paid with a credit card you should be Ok. Most if not all credit card’s protect you from this type of fraud. Contact your issuer and they’ll send you the necessary forms. If you paid by check and it’s already cashed, well, that sucks.
hmm they kinda gave it away . … they were selling all their tools, then selling the 20k shaping machine . . .
sucks hope you can recoup your losses.
I had the same thing happen to me - but they did send my blanks - they are super crappy though - wormholes throughout the whole blank. I think they had an investor back out so they had to move locations and their communication systems are in transit. Email kelly @ kdomyan@domyanfoam.com and she will reply to you - I thought my blanks were not going to come but they did - just had to wait longer than expected. However - with all the holes, they are pretty much useless. Kelly said they are working with their chemical supplier to dial things in to get rid of the bubbles and they would send me some good blanks once the problems are ironed out, but who knows when or IF that will happen.
I’ve used 4 blanks from Domyan and they all have bubbles and they are heavy. I hope you have better luck than me and Grasshopper!
they wouldnt accept credit cards so I send them a check. Kelly was the one that got my order and sent me an email stating the blanks were on the way…that was 3 weeks ago. Sucks!
i almost bought some from them but then said i should use all the foam i have first (good luck i guess)
beware of new surfboard blank copanies period. when clark went out of buisness I got talked into getting some crappy — blanks ----- the first batch was totaly unusable for a quality boards heavy total resin soakers, then they made some better ones but they still sucked , — , Anyways i was out a couple thousand bucks , I have been using rhino blanks since about last june and they are realy good quality blanks . All of this im talking about is polyester. Wish there was a USA blank company i could suport. . , but … okay im gona go cry in my beer now , Xon Zane
…rhino Bennett are from Brasil with chemistry from Germany
in the past the name was only Bennett foam, like the Aussie one (they were bought the Chemistry), but the Brazucas did wrong with the Aussies; so, they dont bought anymore and were closed several month…then started with other name and buy German chem
they had a thing up here a while ago that they were downsizing that should have set up ed flags to orders.
well, after all the crying I did all of the sudden the ups man comes with a big box so it turns out they tried to delivered but the address was confusing and couldnt find me. The blanks look ok although heavier, almost like clarks supergreen. We’ll see how it goes during glassing. I am sorry for raising the scam flag afterall. It looks like they did have a good product.
It looks like they did have a good product.
just wait until you cut into 'em. you didn’t notice that they weren’t selling any “first quality” blanks…only seconds and rejects! their product is crap, and they knew it.
how much did you pay for blanks + shipping? wouldn’t it have made more sense to just call up Foam-EZ?
Domyan Foam apologizes for any problems anyone has had with our blanks. This was not our intentions. We had no idea that this foam was going to cause so many problems. We are currently in communications with our chemical dealer to work out the issues. We are very sorry. It’s not like we wanted to end up in this position either. Alberto says he did get his blanks. The only reason they took so long was prblems on UPS’s part, not ours. We have no control over the shipping. However, it is unfortunate that UPS would have so many problems in thier transit process. This was a huge venture to undertake and we have hit many bumps and curves in the road. This is never how we expected things to work out. We were not in business to scam people… we have been in this industry for a long time and every customer has become life long friends. This particular foam venture has left unfortunate tastes in your mouths and we apologize. I hope you can forgive us and realize that we had not intended for things to turn out this way. We are in the works to try and sort these issues out. We also apologize for the end of communication methods. Due to our problems with our product and with our investor we were subjected to a major downsize also cutting our phone and email communications for a while. Please keep in touch.
Sincerly,
Kelly Domyan
