Hi,
Do any of you know if a 6’4" x 22 1/2 x 2 7/8 Donald Takayama Scorpion will be big enough to float a 5’11” 240lb guy? He has surfed long boards for 10+years and is in decent shape. His wife wants to surprise him with a new stick and I don’t know enough about larger guys. Are there volume# for Scorpions out there?
Thanks for any input
I’m 210. I haven’t ridden a Scorpion, but I do have a 6’-4" x 22 x 2 3/4" that floats me. The thickness runs throughout the board.

I just ordered a 6’4" Takayama Scorpion. SUPER STOKED as I am a big Takayama fan. I’m 191 lbs and 5’11". Ive surfed long and short boards for over 10 years. If you’re over 2 bills I would buy a 6’8" epoxy. Epoxy floats waaay better but of course is stiffer. Fiber glass is for the purests out there but Ive been told Donald stopped shaping this year.
If you have exceptional surfing ability than by all means drop as far as you want.
