Dorsal Products Fins

Anyone know these guys?

I bought a fin from them and had it shipped to uk, when it came I was charged £34($66) tax on it, (the fin only cost me £17($32)), as they had made a typo on the invoice and said the value was $321.00!!!

When I told them about it, they basically said tuff luck.

Fins not great by the way, I cut myself on the edge it was left that sharp…

Just thought I’d share their fantastic customer service with you guys… Dangers of buying from overseas I guess.

How’d the fin perform?

I believe Dorsal is an East Coast-based company that imports ‘pop-outs’ from Asia Pacific. The quality is not there - try not to be swayed by saving a few bucks.

Next time try Rainbow Fins, Fins Unlimited, Fibre Glas Fins, True Ames or Island Design for quality fins. Even glass fins from Futures or FCS would be superior to anything from Dorsal.

As far as the sales transaction do you have any recourse for a refund?

not had the chance to use the fin. it’s for this singlefin I’m using. i have a ainbow on my mal, lovely it is too, but this is clear see thru and looks very swish. might be pants, who knows, but it looks birds!

as for refund, i need dorsal to confim to uk customs the actual cost, but they have stopped replying to my mails.

nightmare.

American do made bad products too ? Thought they always think all the bad product r from WE ASIAN ?

Apologies to Dorsal Products all around - I was thinking of Dolsey Surfboards out of Norfolk, VA www.boardshorts.com.

I still standby my statement on the preferred fin builders.

dude if you paid by credit card, call your CC company and challenge it, tell them they quoted you a different price etc . . . and you don’t want to pay that!

If you paid by check . . . uh see if your bank can pull it back . . . or cancel it.
