Anybody from here in Georgia? Where to surf around Savannah? Looks small down there now but might stumble onto something with a longboard tomorrow or Monday?
THEN I’m going to be in Florida Tuesday and start back Wednesday, boss has given me the choice of taking a day or two off. If that storm moves in maybe I’ll score … didn’t bring the tie dyed semi gun though only the 10’ … hope I won’t be undergunned

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Savannah is not a hot spot for surf. There are large expanses, so to say of shallow water and barrier island off the coast that prevent surf from getting in. Not to say that nothing ever does, but I have never heard or seen it. Where in FL are you gonna be at, you may catch something, couple feet, like 1 or 2 but nothing that significant I dont think. Im in Jax, PM me if you wanna catch a few…

There are rideable waves around Savannah if you don’t need a lot of push and aren’t horribly picky…a few times a week, actually…but as others say, it is not a local “hot spot” on the coast. Just go to the most frequented “beach” near Savannah to the public beach area and you’ll find your way from there. Better if you have a boat, actually, and you can try to find the broken arrow too.
And while in Savannah get some BBQ at Carey Hilliards. Brunswick stew really good. Just don’t ask what is in it.
i’m down in south florida. if you’re staying up north, jax and st. augustine are good small-wave spots. central florida – patricks, sebastian, fort pierce. if you’re down my way, and there’s some windchop comin’ through, shoot me a PM and i’ll tell ya where i’m at…
There is surf in Georgia…just not this weekend! If you make it out to Tybee Island please stop by my shop. I’m 3 tenths of a mile past the first 35 mph sign on the left as you drive onto the island behind the “Shell Arts” shop. Jim (undergroundboardworks.com)

And the fish tacos @ North Beach – I give them 5 stars by East Coast standards … can’t compare to SD county they’re in a class of their own
