WHAT IS DRAGON SCREEN? WHERE MIGHT I FIND IT BESIDES FOAM EZ?
WHAT IS DRAGON SCREEN?>>> WHERE MIGHT I FIND IT BESIDES FOAM EZ? Dragon skin is sort of like a flexible Surform. I have seen it at OSH and at Fiberglass Hawaii in Santa Barbara. Some 40 grit paper folded in half and glued back to back works just as well, Scott
Dragon Screen is a small (about 4" to 5"+) square sheet of tempered steel thats folded on two sides to clamp onto a matching metal grip/handle. The steel is perforated with thousands of tiny (36 grit?) holes that form wickedly sharp and durable raised edges on the contact side. It
s super aggressive, seldom clogs, usually stays sharp for a long time (outlasting any sandpaper by far) and is inexpensive and useful to have around the shop. When mine get clogged or dull, I drop the metal sheet into a glass tray of muratic acid for a while, which eats any residual matter away and actually bites into the metal enough to put a little edge back on the perforated holes. By the way, this method will often clean and help to partially re-sharpen old metal files and surform blades, too. It`s made by the Red Devil Corporation and is widely used: http://www.reddevil.com/browseresults.cfm?SeriesXRefNum=28&CategoryID=1
