dry lam question

hey guys i glassed the bottom of a board last night ( epoxy ) and things looked ok  when all done. so i headed of bed. this morn i looked at board and it seems that the blank has suck in more resin than i thought it would.

so i  am thinking the lam is a little dry.

I have been trying to work on not to leaving resin puddles in my lams but have had a hard time getting the right squeege pressure so as not to draw out to much.

I guess i should have squeeged some clear over the color after it had set up a bit.

Any way can i just squeege a coat over the lam now that its set and try work the resin into the spots were the weave is real noticeable.

It is not that bad ,all the cloth wetted out well but the cloth is 6oz and has a real corse weave and some of resin in between the weave was drawen into the blank.

its manly in the center of the board around the stringer

will this affect the strengh of the lam job ?

and what is the best way to fix?

cheers antony

Hozit twisted, Not that bad and just mix up some lam resinwith a little ofthat lime green tint and sqeegee it into th gaps in the weave or if you don't mind the white from the blank then just fill it when you do the hotcoat. I don't think you are going to have any problems fro the dry lam, have seen a lot worse.Aloha,Kokua

I did something similar one time, on one of my first boards. After it was finished I could see the cloth weave all over the deck. the board lasted a month, and eventually turned yellow at the stringer, anddelamed everywhere. I was using under catalyzed Polyester resin, so i don't know how epoxy would differ. IT really sucked, but yours doesn't look as bad as mine did.

good luck

cheers guys good to hear that things will work out
