Don’t find anything in the archives…
They don’t seem to recommend it for other epoxies, but maybe the ingredients indicate whether it might work for the epoxies we use?
List of ingredients is in the second .pdf file on that webpage.
Can’t believe no one’s tried this? If it works it could be a godsend, superior to Additive F where F applies?
well Batfische, its up to you to try it out!
It might just be Xylene as a thinner, and flooring epoxies aren’t the same quality as what we all use here, but it could be interesting.
In the paint shop I manage, we avoid fish-eye eliminators because of the siloxanes they generally contain. They allegedly can lead to cross-contamination issues, believe it or not. If you don’t like fish eyes, just follow the basic protocols resinhead and I have laid out on various occasions.
I use a fisheye killer in my furniture shop every day. It’s called “smoothie” and has been around for years. I am using lacquer. . Fisheye occurs when the surface tension of the film is broken.
See how water beads on a waxed car? That is just extreme fisheye. I am willing to bet smoothie would work in epoxy. You can find it on Amazon. I am thinking a capfull to quart would be a good ratio.
There is also a fisheye killer used by the car paint guys. Very common stuff.
