The small chute is what I looking for. Let me know what you have. Condition and price. Thanks.
Will this one work Bill
Tom
Yes, that's the one I'm looking for.
Bill,
I have one. Painted black and in good shape. Do you have and 100 parts for trade? belts, brushes, bearings, etc. What is a fair price/trade? I have been looking for a large chute. Any ideas where I can find? Thanks
Tim
Tim,
I do not know where a large chute can be obtained. Perhaps PeteC has some. I have a small chute on the way now, from a SwayBro. I just noticed that I spelled Skil with two L's, what was I thinking?? Too early in the AM, I guess.
Going in the mail tomorrow Bill

The large dust chute of the type used on the Type 4, 7.5 seem to be in short supply. One recently sold on Ebay for sixty dollars. Read it and weep; I said $60.00 GW's. I was told by Pete that the larger chute is more effecient because of it's size and design. Less clogging. I need two for two 7.5 s that I will be getting back from Pete soon. I was thinking that any good sheet metal shop could easily make one In fact it could probably be done with a sheet metal brake purchased from Harbor Freight and a couple of pop rivets..
The tall one ejects better because the internal “ramp” is at a better angle for the flow than the low one (the chip flow is straight up). Chutes have recently become a commodity as many shapers are now working here and there at places that may not have vacuum systems. In my opinion, it’s always best to try and use a vacuum so that you don’t run over foam dust/chunks which wacks out your cut depths. It is practical to have a portable vac-system, check out this portable hose boom from Festool: http://www.festoolusa.com/products/dust-extractors/organization-storage/boom-arm-492753.html . One could be improvised to fit a better vac, but it would be a lot of stuff to lug around if you’re only shaping for a day or two somewhere.
