You might be looking for more “advanced” advice but have you tried cutting a v-shaped notch in the cloth at both ends of the board before applying resin. This minimizes the amount that the cloth must deform to wrap around sharp angles. Good luck.
Sounds like you haven’t saturated the cloth enough. Sand down the bubble/bad lap. Cut a piece of cloth to reglass the sanded nose and tail area, maybe 3-5 inches long, depending on your shape. This time take care to trim the cloth so you can fold one side over and then the other into a neat lap. Check it before you wet it out. Wet it well with resin, don’t touch it after you get the air bubbles out and it is lapped neatly. Your hotcoat will cover your patchwork.>>> Im using 6 oz. e glass for thi surfboard im building right now and it > doesnt wanna stay down on the nose and pin tail. i have open ends on both > sides.
