e5star Japanese Custom Wetsuits

I have just stumbled across a new Japanese Wetsuit company called e5star which seem to be making custom japanese quality wetsuits at prices (50,000 yen) almost close to the australian price of the top end suits from Rip Curl, O’Neill, etc - even at the currently crappy exchange rate. All done via the internet, with a pretty comprehensive measurement form.

I have no affiliation or interests in this company, but thought some one out there may be interested in such.

I have another brand custom japanese wetsuit which I bought when the australian dollar to yen exchange rate was very favourable - the only time I ever thought I’d be able to afford one. The quality of materials and workmanship in these type of wetsuits is so far above the industry “norm” it’s not funny. Hopefully the quality in these suits is up to the regular japanese standards and the company stays in business until I need another steamer in a few years time.

Hey RDM,

I’ve got a e5star wettie. Fantastic quality on seams and the neoprene is top quality. But there was a few bugs. They cut the neck way to long which I don’t like and made it a smidge big through the body. Also the knee pads they do are just screened silicon type ink, they need to change that as you will go through the knees in a year.

Thanks for the first hand info r.c.d. Always good to hear from someone who actually owns something before you consider ordering sight unseen.

I figured taking the measurements probably would take some care. Long necks I don’t mind. Will ask them if they intend to change the knee pads any time in the future.

No probs Rohan, glad I could help. I just have a very unhealthy wetsuit obsession which causes me to buy way to many of the things and test them out ha ha ha. At least I enjoy it.

I would check the neck lenghth though as mine came right up under my jaw line and to the start of my hair line on the back of my head.
