Emma's christmas presant

Emma is a friends 8yo daughter. I was originally designing it smaller, but he wanted something she could “grow into”. This is #2 for me and I actually had it finished 12/23 (cut it a little close), but couldn’t find where I had written down the dementions until now. Its 6’6", 15" - 19.5" - 13", N4.5", T3". First time doing glass on fins. A bit messier than boxes but eeser. 2x6oz top and bottom with a big deck patch (1.5lb EPS). Pink paint on a sealed blank but couldn’t find enough glitter so that was left out. Too bad because I was really looking forward to that. The good: spraying paint with a spray gun gives a finnish that is 100% better than a spray can, even when using one of the cheap Harbor Freight ones. The bad: don’t lam with RR epoxy at 48F. You get about 3 minutes of workable vescosity then you have snot and snot doesn’t saturate 3 layers of 6oz cloth too well. So follow the instructions even if you already know them. The really good: getting a hug from the 8yo girl who has just received her first surfboard. That’s way cool!

Thanks for all the help on this guys especially Lavarat, Tigermeat, Hicksy (sorry, no glitter), and 2coldmorefoam.

Swaylock’s rocks!. Thanks again. Eric

Hey Spud,

Great stuff mate!!! Such a good feeling eh…

The board looks fantastic, hope Emma learns to ride it well…

Have to get some shots of her riding it…

“WHAT!!! No Glitter!!!” don’t ever make that mistake again, you know glitter makes the board magic for little girls…and faster…

Nice board ,

Maybe you could add some purple and white pinlines with glitter. Or maybe find some stickers that have that glitter glow!!!
