Entropy Super Sap CLR or 100

Is anyone on here using super sap CLR or 100 resin?

If so how do you like it? whats it like to lam, hot coat and sand? does it yellow at all? I’ve heard the 100 series which is the higher bio content yellows quite a bit??

Is it a safer resin to use than the other normal surfboard resins due to being bio based? i’m thinking of switching to it. I’ve been using kinetix for a while now, and like using it, but i have 2 kids now, so thinking it would be best to use the safest possible resin.

I don’t know if its paranoia, but i feel like i’m getting slightly more itchy now than when i started making boards a few years back. especially between the fingers and ankles.

Pirate,

There’s a guy who opened up a small glass-shop around the corner from me.

He says he only uses Bio-friendly resins.

Super-sap and Entrophy stuff.

He built a big oven to bake the boards as it helps harden and cure the resins.

Curious to see the final results.

heard entropy was “soft” maybe the oven helps.

you should try and get ahold of Matt at 3d and get a hold of some ResinX

bammbamm here in hawaii’s been using it for a while

I would choose resinX over entropy for new stuff although entropy has a better story

Many of the other epoxies have a fairly high Bio-content as well, they just arent certified and marketed that way.

I’ve used it a couple of times, mostly for repairs; pretty long drying times compared to certain others, and definitely a bit soft, which obviously affects sanding. Haven’t tried a higher temp post-cure so I can’t comment on that. Clarity was fine, but since this was only a couple of months ago I can’t really comment on yellowing. I do like the idea of staying as safe as you can.

Is there a big difference health-wise between entropy resin and resin research? I’m all for a safer product but there’s no way I can afford to pay what they want for it. RR epoxy is about 3 times more than poly and entropy resin is 70% more than RR. I’ve seen some big shops use entropy so I wonder if the costs are about the same when ordering in bulk? If not, I guess they are just adding in the extra cost to the board price.
