Epoxied my toes together.....again

Got tired of dripping resin on my only pair of sandals so I went barefoot this time. When will I learn?

FYI best way to get rid of mono-toe. Treat it like a bandaid and rip them apart real quick!

Dang, Brian.  There is an old Baptist joke, the punch line of which is “…I don’t believe I’d have confessed that to the preacher.”

(Early on, I laminated my shoe laces together. Crazy)

Do they make nitrile gloves for your feet?

Well, um… look at your toes.

They certainly aren’t long and skinny.

Sometime you just have to read the writing on the wall.

In your case, you’re being told to epoxy ALL of THEM Together to complete the webbing they are begging for.

Then cut a foot or two off your board so you can use them to their greatest advantage: allowing YOUR FEET to do some of the work that your arms have been burdened with.

vinegar is your friend, brian…unless you like the svelt 4 toe look.

try tennis shoes that you can slip on(dont have to untie). wrap masking tape around them and  peel it off once too much builds up. that looks painful.

Hey!

 where are the safety police?

7 year old pair of shoes still going strong… for shielding my feet from epoxy that is.  The epoxy has reformed the souls after I have worn through them twice.

Howzit astevens, Now that is an old school trick for sure. I started buying those cheap Wal-Mart tennis shoes with the velcro straps and they work great and no tape needed and no shoe strings to worry about and they last forever. Aloha,Kokua

here’s examples of what’s been used in my glassing area (most are still lying around):

old leather moccasins

old boat/deck shoes (slip on kind)

old golf shoes (soft spikes ok, if old enough to have metal spikes, remove those)

old running shoes (no laces or tied loose enough to be slip-ons)

tape over the toes works well with flip-flops (2" is convenient)

and of course, newer/nice shoes that then become glassing shoes…

mario’s yellow or pink crocs so no one will walk off with them

black garden crocs work well too

good grip and excellent backdrop for colored resin drips

for the ahteest

buy the imitation ones at the discount store

and don’t forget those vinyl butcher aprons and fore arm guards

the epoxy pops off after it drys

Barney Rubble wants his foot back.

Ouch! If it’s a quick glass job (ding repair or glassing only 1 board) if I don’t have my glassing shoes I use plastic grocery bags and some tape.

Gee Brian!  Not good.  You got karate lookin' toes and feet anyway.  Walmart "Winos".  Buy 'em about two sizes too big so they slip on and off easily.  A size eleven is not an eleven in China.  Just leave 'em by the door of the lam room.

......just leave it and keep glassing barefoot....when it builds up enough , get someone to shape it into swim-fins...maybe some 4oz carbon on the bottom for flex....

I found that after laminating a board my thongs had stuck to my feet, when I peeled em off i just chucked em straight in the bin.  lesson learnt i know have already bought a cheap pair of shoes with velcro and will only laminate in them.
