Hi Greg !

…will this dvd be available in Australia also ,

is it “region free” or whatever , to be able to be viewed world-wide too ?

“EPOXY 101 Volume 1 SHAPING with Greg Loehr is a 97 minute instructional dvd that teaches the viewer how to shape EPS Foam into a finished foil ready to glass.

Why Epoxy? EPOXY 101 Volume 1 SHAPING is instructed by the Epoxy Master Greg Loehr who was at the for front of developing Epoxy resin. Greg, a pro surfer in the 80’s started his own surfboard company and shaped thousands of boards with his factory based in Florida. During this time He saw the need for better materials. Now two decades later, Greg produces and markets Epoxy resin world wide.

This dvd starts with an explanation on how EPS foam is made and what tools are needed to work with it. Greg shows how to cut custom blanks out of a block of foam which minimizes shaping time. This program teaches all the tricks to shape EPS foam, including concaves and V bottoms.

After the blank is shaped Greg than covers the mysterious yet simple process of sealing the foam to insure it’s lightness, before laminating.

My computer savvy neighbor set our dvd player as region free. You need to find a computer geek Chip. Sent an e-mail to check out the video and it got rejected as spam. I’d love to have 96 min of GL tips.

several ways of region free

  1. play in your region free dvd burner

  2. hack / mod a dvd player thaT attaches 2 a tv

  3. d/l a region free player / install on your pc

2a) must have a region free dvd player

  1. hack / mod a dvd player in your pc

  2. can be done software or via hardware

  3. get a dvd ripper software, and rip the dvd files and convert them to PC format

4a) may need to strip security

4b) need software that makes region free rips

  1. get a dvd ripper software, rip the dvd files, and burn back as region free dvd media

    5a) will need a dvd burner, preferable region free

    5b) will need good quality DVD burn media

    5c) need DVD burning software

usually the computer geek / tech oriented person knows one or all steps

I bought a copy a few months ago. I’m very glad to own it, to be able to see Greg shape from start to finish is nice, but all the information is on this site many times over. I’m now shaping my third EPS/Epoxy and I found that my hotwire looked exactly the same as Greg’s, my cutting method is near his, etc., and I had got all my info from Swaylocks before the DVD came out. I agree with the above comment that the glassing dvd should have been made first. Glassing techniques and hints I can definetaly use. I still highly recommend the dvd, but I guess I’ve learned more from Swaylocks than I thought.

I think Greg did a good job with this one. After I watched it, I thought he could have talked more story, but as the info says, it is all about the process with no filler. I’m okay with that. I’ve watched lots of eps board being shaped, and stood there and told myself I could do it, but I was so comfortable just telling someone who had done it thousands of time what I wanted and it worked. I’ll buy his glassing one too. That, I have more experience with. I can’t imagine being so close to the ocean for so long and finding myself in Arizona. Culture shock for sure.

hi, you can install the “VLC media player” it does allmost everything and doesn’t care about region codes.
