Question,
me and my friend are about to finish making some epoxy surfboards and are wondering if there is a certain amount of time to let the boards sit before riding them. Our boards are EPS with #2 density Resin Research epoxy with additive F.
Like, there are two variables. One is which hardener is used, Resin Research offers three, most people use the fastest one, which hardens in 20 minutes.
The other is the ambiant temp. If it has been over 70 degrees for more than a day, it’ll be fine. If it has been in cooler temps, I would get it someplace over 70 degrees for more than a day. Or wait a good 2-3 days…
At 85+ degrees F, the fast hardener can set quite fast.
