I was checking out a Yancy Spencer epoxy board today. I’ve never used epoxy before, but I liked the feel of the thing. I’m thinking about using epoxy on the next board. (the Spencers have the same look and feel as the Tuflites) What kind of epoxy are these guys using? SB-112? System 3 General purpose? Do these boards have gloss coats? Anybody have any recomendations?
The finish they use (used?) at Boardworks is a urethane automotive paint, like DuPont Imron. This is not an easy finish to use. It’s also quite toxic. It requires a spray booth and some expensive safety equipment. If you want an easier finish Resin Research epoxy with Additive F can be glossed and polished, just like polyester.
wooo. Sounds intense. I’ll check out resin research. Thanks Greg!!!
