Epoxy hazing

I may get screamed at only because this seems like a common question, but I looked on the forums and I couldn’t find anything. I apologize in advance if there is.

I use RR for all of my boards. Love the stuff. I do have a small problem though when using it. As I sand my laminate and prep for hotcoat, some particles get trapped within the weave and I tend to get this somewhat hazy look when the hotcoat goes on. I try to lift as much as I can with a microfiber towel. If I do a board with color, you can see a little bit of the haze even when its done sanded glossed and polished. Its very miniscule, but I just want my colors to really punch out. When I do poly boards, I never really get this issue.

And just as a disclaimer, all laminates are fully cured to a hard touch.

My end goal is obviously not to have this happen. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Use a vaccum cleaner to suck the particles out ?

Already do that actually.  I try to suck as much up as I can. Still has a haziness to it unfortunately.

How’s the temperature in your work area? Also is your resin nice and warm when you first mix and pour it? Cool resin stores the air bubbles that form when you mix thus causing the haze you see especially over dark colors. Glass on fins however there is no known cure as far as i know.

If dust is getting deep into the fiberglass, lam is too dry.

I get haziness if resin, blank and room temp are not the same.

Also humidity does it as well.
